Dancing the Night Away at Father Daughter Dance

On Saturday, Feb. 3, Sacred Heart Academy celebrated its annual Father Daughter Dance. The Father Daughter Dance was held at the Mellwood Arts Center in downtown Louisville.

This year’s theme was Winter Wonderland; the venue was decorated with winter backdrops and displays along with a glittery donut wall and lots of sweet treats. Refreshments and desserts were provided, and Miller Photography offered to take professional pictures with students and their fathers.

DJ Gary provided the music, playing several fan favorites including “Footloose” and “Come On Eileen.” Fathers danced with their daughters on the dance floor throughout the night. Several seniors also danced on stage with DJ Gary and sung along with the music.

Senior Ashley Arnett said, “It was so exciting to finally get on the stage with my senior sisters” when asked about this moment. “I had been waiting to do that for almost four years,” she said.

Students wore cocktail dresses, while their fathers had the option of wearing a black tie. However, seniors carried out the long tradition of wearing their prom dresses to the dance to celebrate their last year and Father Daughter Dance at Sacred Heart. The Father Daughter Dance is a great opportunity for seniors to celebrate their final months at Sacred Heart.

Overall, this was a very memorable night for students. There is no doubt that several unforgettable memories were made that night.
