A Merry Madrigal Dinner

This Tuesday, Nov. 28, the Sacred Heart Academy Madrigal choir performed at the annual Madrigal Dinner at Big Spring Country Club. Family members, faculty, and friends attended the event as the Madrigals performed multiple songs throughout the evening.

Throughout the evening, the audience enjoyed performances of Christmas songs, individual solos, and even short monologues from several of the Madrigals.

The Madrigals perform their own rendition of “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Senior Ashley Arnett participated in the Madrigal Dinner for the second and final year this Tuesday. “It’s always fun to put on a show for the audience,” Arnett said, “and it is a time for us to showcase all of the hard work we have put in to the choir since mid August.”

The Madrigal Dinner takes place several weeks before Christmas. When asked about the significance of the timing, Arnett said, “the event gets everyone excited for Christmas, especially when we perform holiday songs.”

The Madrigals concluded the evening by singing “Silent Night,” and they encouraged the audience members to join in on the song as well.

The Madrigals will perform again on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in their Madrigal and A Capella Christmas concert.
