Several new teachers have been walking the halls of Sacred Heart Academy. One new faculty member is, religion teacher, Mrs. Tasha Gordon. Students are thrilled to have such inspiring teachers a part of the faculty. Her positive personality and engaging classroom environment is a wonderful addition this school year.

After attending Shelby County High School, Mrs. Gordon attended University of Kentucky for her undergrad, and University of Louisville for graduate school.

Torn between two rival schools, Mrs. Gordon said, ” I am a UK fan. I appreciate UofL, but I love UK.”

As a visual and hands on learner, Mrs. Gordon plans to implement different learning styles in her classroom.

She said, “I feel for the students who have someone talking at them the whole time.”

She will work hard to steer away from this teaching approach.

Mrs. Gordon is looking forward to being a part of SHA and sharing her strong faith with a younger generation. She is eager to share the love of God with students at SHA this year. She looks to her students as younger sisters and can’t wait to discuss religion on a local and global scale.

From an early age, Mrs. Gordon was interested in studying her faith and sharing her religious values with others. Her family and friends encouraged her decision to pursue theology.

Mrs. Jane Cruthirds, current religion teacher, influenced Mrs. Gordon to join the SHA community and jump into such a new experience.

Mrs. Gordon said, “this new position is an urge from God.”

In addition to the classroom, you can find Mrs. Gordon helping out with the Culinary Club. She is excited to learn new cooking styles and techniques.

She said, “I can’t wait to sample some great food.”

Mrs. Gordon is prepared to be apart of the heart, and is excited to learn something new everyday.
