From Shadows to Students

Although there are many new faculty and teachers at Sacred Heart Academy this year, one familiar face, Mrs. Alyssa Schlimm, is taking on a new role. Prior to this year, Mrs. Schlimm has been the Enrollment Services Coordinator, affectionately known as the “shadow lady”. She has always been the first smiling face you see when you walk in the door. This year she is taking that smile to the counseling office as the Counseling Coordinator.

Schlimm is a proud SHA alumna, graduating in 2005. She attended Northern Kentucky University, where she studied public relations and marketing. She likes the creative aspect of this field. After college, she worked in college admissions at Sullivan University. She knew she wanted to pursue a career in education and admissions and made her way back to the SHA community.

At Northern Kentucky University, she met her husband Claus and they have been married for five years. They have two children, Conrad, 3, and Louisa, 1. Schlimm enjoys spending time with her family and she also participates in the Louisville Circus as an ariel acrobat. Conrad and Louisa enjoy going to her practices with her.

Schlimm can be emotional, moved to tears, thinking about Sacred Heart and the impact that it has on her life. One of Schlimm’s favorite parts about working here is the tradition that Sacred Heart carries.

“I love getting to interact with the students and see all of their potential,” said Schlimm. She truly cares about the well-being of each student and that is obvious through her friendly encounters and how dedicated she is to Sacred Heart.

The Sacred Heart community is so excited to have Mrs. Schlimm in the counseling offices and cannot wait to watch her succeed in her new role!
