The Sacred Heart Academy juniors excitedly began their transition into senior year by celebrating their Junior Ring Ceremony and Junior Prom on Friday, Apr. 21.

The Valkyries chose a female role model to present their junior ring to them, serving as a sentimental reminder of their high school experience. Many students normally choose SHA seniors or alumnae, as well as mothers, sisters, and grandmothers.

SHA junior Megan Bishop thoroughly enjoyed her time at the Junior Ring Ceremony. “I chose my grandmother to give me my ring,” said Bishop, “and she’s a highly influential role model in my life. She truly exemplifies the core values.”

The juniors ended the ceremony by singing the school anthem “Dear Sacred Heart” with their Sacred Heart sisters and family. Junior Ring Ceremony traditionally concludes with an array of photos taken and smiles exchanged. Juniors often go out to lunch with families and friends to relax before the main event of the day: Junior Prom.

That evening, the juniors attended Junior Prom at The Pointe and danced the night away. Prom included refreshments, a photo booth, and nonstop music. In honor of prom court, Valkyries supported prom princesses Emily Stoll and Olivia Crow, and prom queen Natalie Duggins.

Overall, the juniors celebrated a monumental and exciting weekend as they prepared to become the leaders of Sacred Heart in the 2017-2018 school year.
