The Sacred Heart Lacrosse team defeated the Ballard Bruins 16-6 Tuesday night on Horton Field.

The Valkyries were lead by senior captains Abby Thompson and Mary Katherine Hardy, who each scored three goals.

“I think we played really well as a team,” Hardy said.  “Everyone improved on a lot of little things we have been working on in practice and it was rewarding to see it all come together.”

This was the Valkyries’ third game of the season.  They beat both Male High School and DuPont Manual.

First year head coach Andrea Merchak believes “this team has a lot of talent on the field in every position and I definitely have a very optimistic outlook on the rest of the season.”

Catch the lacrosse team next Tuesday, March 21st as they take on Eastern High School at 7:30 p.m. on Horton Field.
