Last Wednesday Sacred Heart’s ValkyrieBEAT club held an all day bake sale both at school and a local pizza parlor, DiOrios. The goal was to raise money for the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology clinic at the University of Louisville and Pediatric Research at U of L.

Thanks to the generous donations from the girls in ValkyrieBEAT and Beta Club, hundreds of homemade and hand decorated baked goods were sold. At the Sacred Heart bake sale they raised over $620. At DiOrios later that night 15 percent of all profits were donated to ValkyrieBEAT. There they also held the bake sale from 6-10pm, the total is yet to be released.

You still have the opportunity to donate to this great cause. ValkyrieBEAT is hosting a dance marathon on March 24. Tickets are $15 and include a free t-shirt, good music and unlimited food. Ticket sale start on March 15 at lunch.

ValkyrieBEAT president, Anna Marie Beck was ecstatic at the amount of support shown from the community.

“I am absolutely elated over how much we raised. Everyone was so amazing for coming and buying goods,” Beck said. “ValkyrieBEAT is just one big party! And if you can help raise money for a good cause while partying why wouldn’t you?”
