The Sacred Heart Academy basketball team trumped the Assumption Rockets 67-43 on Sunday night at Assumption High School.

This was the Valkyrie’s sixth straight win against the Rockets and moved the Valkyries to 13-4 on the season.

After a slow start in the first quarter only winning by 2, the Valkyries stepped up and increased their lead to 28-16 by halftime.

The Valkyries continued their domination ending the third quarter winning 50-29 and eventually defeating the Rockets 67-43.

Junior star, Grace Berger, led the game with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists in the triumph on Sunday. Junior Kia Sivils led the Valkyrie’s defense efforts with five steals along with the help of junior Natalie Fichter’s three blocks.

After another show put on by Berger, she said, “It was great to beat Assumption because they are our rivals and they are a really good team. It was also exiting because we got to do it in front of our fans.”

The next game for the Valkyries is an away game against Scott High on January 18th at 7:30 p.m.
