Sacred Heart Gives Back: Food Drive Wrap-Up

Kylie Menish, Staff Reporter

The annual Sacred Heart Schools Food Drive came to a conclusion last Tuesday, Nov. 22–just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

This year, SHA sponsored Dare to Care, a completely donor based organization. Dare to Care works throughout Kentuckiana to help provide meals to families in need.  According to their website, they have served more than 16 million meals to families in the Kentuckiana area in the last year alone.

This year the Academy and Model School joined together to collect canned goods. After two weeks the campus combined for more than 11,000 cans.

Without the support and generous donations to Dare to Care, some families would have not had the Thanksgiving meal they deserved.

It’s not to late to donate canned goods. Dare to Care accepts donations all year long. You can drop your donations off at their base located at 5803 Fern Valley Rd, Louisville, KY 40228. For more information visit the Dare to Care website at http://daretocare.org/ or contact them at  (502)966-8321.
