SHA, Trinity Support Cause Close to Teams

On Monday night at Horton Field the Valkyries competed against the Trinity Shamrocks in the annual lacrosse Rock the Heart Game.

Although the Valkyries fell to the Shamrocks 7-9, the game had deeper meaning than the score board.

The seniors chose to honor those affected by breast cancer, as many girls on the team have had family members and friends affected by this disease. The Valkyrie fans wore pink to show their support.

Senior Maddie Duane said, “I love being part of such a great team and being able to come together to support such a great cause.”

The Shamrocks adapted to the girls game, playing with girls’ sticks and playing by girls’ rules.
