Louisville’s first ever College GameDay visit from ESPN occurred on Saturday Sept. 17  at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, and the Valkyries were out in full force to support the Cardinals.

College GameDay is a college football pregame show held by ESPN each Saturday during the college football season.

The University of Louisville trounced No. 2 ranked Florida State University, 63-20. Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson was a highlight in the win for Louisville, scoring five touchdowns.

The stadium was completely sold out and it was an unforgettable day for UofL fans.

Sacred Heart student and GameDay attendee Abby Thompson said, “The UofL-FSU game was an amazing game to watch and one that I will remember forever. So many people came out to support so early, and it was a great time with so many fans. I love my cards!”

Beating FSU moved Louisville to No. 3 in the AP Top 25 poll.

Cards fans are hopeful that Sam Ponder and the College GameDay crew will be back in Louisville soon!
